Methodology explanation
As mentioned previously, companies featured on this list must have at least 25 hired signals and be in the top 1000 rank in job postings, the latter of which is an indicator of job volume and opportunity. The results of this list reflect each employer’s relative time to hire (from posting to hired signal) vs. other US employers in the top 1000 by the number of job postings on Indeed, measured between Mar. 1, 2024 and May 31, 2024. We do this by comparing each employer’s weighted median days to hire vs. the same figure for all other employers (e.g. "Company A is hiring X times faster than the others").The median days to hire that were calculated for all employers have been weighted to normalize hiring speed based on averages per job type, across the full range of available roles on Indeed.
What is a hired signal?
A hired signal refers to the event when a specific job seeker is hired for a specific job on a specific date. Hired signals are counted either when an employer or job seeker explicitly communicates a hire occurred (e.g., via survey or web form) or when there is other clear evidence from Indeed data that a hire occurred (e.g., from a resume or an Indeed message) and may not represent all hires facilitated by Indeed.
What are some of the hiring trends to monitor via this list?
It’s no surprise that the list is varied in terms of industry and location. Companies that need to hire quickly are often hiring at scale, with many open positions and multiple locations or franchises. While each company is hiring for multiple positions, just over 50% of them are customer-facing, with vacancies such as sales associate, customer service representative, caregiver and server. On the flip side, just under 50% are back-of-the-house roles, including technicians, warehouse operators and drivers. The majority of these jobs are skills-first roles, opening opportunities for people of all backgrounds. The top industry is food/food services with two restaurants (Papa John’s and Red Robin) and one food service store (Wawa). Companies in this industry often have to hire at scale, quickly to fill open positions. Two companies deal with insurance (Colonial Life and Aflac), while another two are involved in healthcare (Assisting Care and Amada).Locations vary across the country, with many of the organizations on our list having franchises across the U.S. and beyond. When we look at headquarters, Georgia comes out on top with three companies: RaceTrac, Aflac and Papa John’s.
